Integrating Reality Capture Data into Procore's Locations Tool
Track3D is progress tracking software, and does it through reality capture and computer vision. They have a 360 camera that captures photos of each individual rooms, then run those photos through CV models and determine how many assets are installed in a given room/location (32 out of 100 door frames are installed, for example).
In Procore's locations experience, we wanted to include reality captures to the floor plans so that when users click on a room, they could then choose to open the location items (Procore Data) and/or they can see the reality capture (Track3d Data) in a similar viewer.
The main goal is to integrate Track3D data into Procore and show the progress of the assets being installed in a given floor plan or a room.
The Locations Tool is already showing Procore Data in a given location (punch lists, observations, photos, etc) when users clicks on a location from the drawings, so the challenge was the ability for us to show both and let the user understand what pieces of data belongs to whom and in how it is beneficial for them.
This project is a proof of concept where we roll out to certain customers the ability to try this new feature/integration and provide feedback.
